The nine-time Austrian champions, who were relegated from the Austrian Bundesliga last summer, are seeking to align with the Scottish champions in a bid to revive their fortunes.

Located in Modling, just outside Vienna, Admira Wacker is expected to serve as a feeder club for Celtic, with the partnership focusing on player development and facilitating loan deals between the clubs.

Admira Wacker, originally known as Admira Vienna, enjoyed their greatest success pre-war, with their last Austrian championship win dating back to 1966. Despite their participation in European competition just four years ago, the club has faced recent struggles, leading to their decision to partner with Celtic.

Admira Wacker’s president Christian Tschida stated last week:

“Cooperation with a top club that plays in the Champions League is being finalised and an announcement will be made soon.”

This partnership presents an exciting opportunity for both clubs. For Celtic, it offers a new avenue for talent development and scouting, while for Admira Wacker, it provides a chance to leverage Celtic’s experience and resources to help restore their standing in Austrian football. Fans of both clubs will undoubtedly be watching closely as this partnership unfolds.
