Celtic Set for Saturday Night Football After Three-Way Talks

According to reports overnight Celtic and Hibernian are set for an unusual kick-off time for their final League cup tie at Hampden after talks between the SPFL, police and BT Sports.

Sunsport claim the Celtic game will be pencilled in for Saturday, November 2 with the kick-off time 5pm or later on the day.

This would be another strange move by the powers that be with Celtic having to be shipped out to Murrayfield last season at the same stage in the competition because they didn’t want to have the two games and four sets of fans in Glasgow at the one time.

TV is king and they will have the biggest say on what’s going on but a late Saturday night kick-off followed by a midday Sunday tie in the other semi-final is peculiar.

It’s more evidence Hampden should be saved for the final and the semi-final should take place elsewhere.

An official announcement is due soon.
