Celtic Scouted Everton Youngster; Report

Celtic and Ange Postecoglou will be well on their way to planning this summer’s transfer window.

Since the Australian’s arrival, the Hoops always seem to be a step ahead of the game and in the forthcoming window, fans will be hoping this is once more the case.

In terms of potential targets, names have been limited, although the Liverpool Echo have said that Celtic were interested in Everton teenager Isaac Price.

The 19-year-old came up through the ranks at the Toffees and was greatly impressive in the Sydney Super Cup, a mid-season tournament in which Celtic also took part.

Then manager Frank Lampard wanted to give him more opportunities following this; however, he departed the club weeks after in January, leaving Price at a loose end.

The Northern Irishman’s contract is due to expire this summer therefore, he is available for a minimum compensation fee. Celtic were said to be interested but the player is now closing in on a move to Standard Liege in Belgium.

It is fair to say this will in no way be a significant blow to Celtic as their midfield is already one of the strongest around and any additions to it would likely be unnecessary ones.
