Celtic Rumours Refuted in Portugal

Jota departed Celtic for Saudi Arabia on Monday evening and now there is speculation about a potential Celtic exit for Liel Abada.

The Israeli international bagged 13 goals and nine assists in 2022/23 and the speculation regarding a departure comes as no surprise.

Previously, it was reported by Sky Sports that Sporting Portugal were interested in Abada although according to Portuguese outlet Record, the club are not.

This is rather interesting to say the least although the player will still not be short of potential suitors.

In Sky’s report, it is said Ajax remain interested in Abada and it seems the Dutch side have been long term admirers of the player.

Along with the team from Amsterdam, there are likely to be several others who would be interested in taking the Israeli.

His ceiling his undoubtedly high and the Hoops could get a good price for him this summer but Abada still has three years left on his Parkhead deal so a stay shouldn’t be ruled out at all.
