Celtic Return Flies Under the Radar

There was so much going on at Celtic Park yesterday, many things have fallen under the radar. Given Celtic effectively sealed the title against Hearts in the midday kick off, it’s understandable.

However, we have to give a shout out to David Turnbull who played very well on his return to the starting XI. It’s been a frustrating time for the Scottish midfielder. David went off injured back in December in the final of the League Cup against Hearts and has been working hard to get back to full fitness since.

Ange put his trust in the midfielder for a game where Celtic needed to win to make sure of the title, it wasn’t a throw way game and showed the manager has not forgotten about the former Motherwell man.

David had a good game, considering he’s not had many minutes in 2022. He allowed Reo Hatate to get a rest and the team didn’t skip a beat.

It’s the way it should be in Ange’s system, the system wins out over any changes. If players know what they’re doing in that system, Celtic will have a great chance of winning.

We hope to see more of David next season and see if he can kick on.

David managed 64 minutes, having 59 touches on the ball with an 86% passing accuracy. The midfielder won both his ground duels on the day too.
