Celtic reportedly ‘remain keen’ on Sheffield United right-back George Baldock.
According to MailOnline, the Hoops had made a loan offer the English right-back. However, the recently relegated English Premier League side would prefer a permanent exit.
The report also mentions that Celtic face competition in their pursuit of the 28-year old with Greek side Olympiacos also interested in bringing Baldock to the side.
In recent weeks Celtic have been linked with several right-back targets as they look to bring in a new first-team option, which is badly needed in Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Whilst it looks like the Hoops have lost out on Aurelio Buta to Everton, it could increase the club’s interest in Baldock.
One thing that has put fans off of this link is the reported £7 million transfer fee. However, it has been suggested that the two sides could come to an agreement on a lower fee.
It is for certain, though, that Postecoglou needs additions in that area of the pitch in the final few weeks of the transfer window.
