Celtic have released a late night social media statement after news coming out of France claimed Odsonne Edouard had tested positive for COVID-19. The club confirmed the news but quickly reminded supporters the players were still going through rigorous tests and nobody else has returned positive to this point.
We can confirm that Odsonne Edouard has tested positive for COVID-19 while on international duty with France U21.

As it stands, no other #CelticFC player has returned a positive test.
Our thorough testing programme will continue and we will continue to follow all protocols. pic.twitter.com/JLJroRa7wY
This could change if other players out on international duty revive tests and they’ve been in close proximity to the Celtic striker.
It’s a very precarious time bow with a Glasgow Derby eleven days from now. First and foremost we wish Edouard a speedy recovery but whether it’s the French seven day rule after a positive test is confirmed or the ten in the UK, it’s unlikely the Frenchman will be fit to play by next Saturday.
All we can do now is hope it has Nir hit any other players in our squad. It’s time to hold your breath.
