Europa League winners Atalanta have entered the race to sign Celtic’s 23-year-old midfielder, Matt O’Riley, but their initial bid has been swiftly rejected.

The Italian club’s first offer of £15 million was deemed insufficient by Celtic, who have previously received a higher offer from Atletico Madrid in January.
According to Football Scotland, Celtic have refused to start negotiations. It’s clear that Atalanta undervalued O’Riley, as Celtic have set a £30 million price tag on him.
Despite the setback, Atalanta is reportedly planning an improved second bid in hopes of securing the midfielder.
Matt O’Riley has a lot of interest in him this summer, with teams from the Premier League and Spain keeping tabs on his situation.
He returned to Celtic for pre-season and was back in action on Wednesday night, scoring a goal against Queens Park. He started the match, captaining the Hoops, before being subbed off by Brendan Rodgers at half time.
