Celtic’s B team will remain in the Lowland League for the 2023/24 campaign.

The young Celts have just finished their second season in the division and are now set to embark upon their third as per a Tweet from the official Lowland League page:

We can confirm that members have voted in favour of including B teams for season 2023/24.

This is a big boost for the Celtic academy as getting minutes for extremely youthful players in a senior competitive league is only positive.

It has been vastly beneficial this campaign as a few B team members have went on to make first team appearances, namely Rocco Vata and Ben Summers.

There are high hopes for the young pair at Celtic and the fact they already had some senior experience in the Lowland League under their belts prior to playing in the Scottish Premiership was useful.

In the 2022/23 campaign, Celtic B finished their Lowland League campaign with 76 points.

Regarding placings, they will either be second or third depending on what happens with the opposition teams’ remaining fixtures between now and the end of the campaign.

This is a respectable return, especially for a side that solely consists of youth players.

Going forward, though, all those involved with the Celtic academy will be aiming to propel the B team even further next season.
