Celtic Pushing Reluctant SFA For Inquiry

According to The Times, the SFA has still not responded to Celtic’s request for an inquiry into a decade of Old Rangers deliberate and systemic cheating in Scottish football.

The club made their concerns known and have asked for a FULL judicial review into what one journalist called the biggest ever scandal in the history of UK sport. However, the SFA have been coy to respond with personal statements coming out from different members of the organisation since the biggest court in the land ruled in-favour of HMRC with regards to the years of Tax abuse by the Ibrox club.

The money the club saved on cheating the tax man enabled them to field many players they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to afford – not our words, but words of their former manager Alex McLeish during the EBT era. Big ‘Eck went one further and said they wouldn’t have been able to compete with Celtic if they hadn’t deployed the scheme.

Contrary to fact based evidence, the calls from many in the media to just sweep this whole scandal under the carpet and play the role of a cartoon police officer, waving everyone along ‘There’s nothing to see here’ mentality. Many of the people tasked with holding the men in power to account in the Scottish game have either been posted missing or berate anyone who dare keep bringing it up. Let’s move on; we need to heal – I’m no doctor but how can a patient begin to heal if you’ve not sutured the wounds that were inflicted in the first place. Sticking a plaster over a gun shot wound does nothing to help when the bullet is still very much lodged inside the victim.

There are even Celtic fans willing to give up the fight in the face of being subjected to constant ridicule just because they would like the cheats to be held to account. Luckily, there is a battle hardened band of well-informed people, more informed than myself, that keep fighting to hold not only the cheats to account but also the individuals who have been aiding and abetting the cheats.

This will be fought every step of the way with statements, threats, regular ridicule and distortion of the truth.

When you see other sports coming down hard on cheaters on a regular basis, it’s rather galling having to fight for justice within our own game.

Let’s heal the wounds and restore confidence in Scottish Football.
