Rapid Vienna are piling pressure on Celtic to finalise Marco Tilio’s departure, with the Austrian side growing frustrated at the delay in rubber-stamping the winger’s exit.

The two clubs have agreed a structured deal, a £350,000 loan fee with an obligation to buy for £1.3 million if he played 2o games, but Celtic have yet to green-light the move, placing the transfer on hold as Brendan Rodgers assesses his limited wide options.
Tilio had been keen on the switch, with Vienna ready to welcome the Australian international into their plans for the new season.
However, with Celtic still light in the winger department following the sale of Nicolas Kuhn and ongoing concerns over squad depth, the Hoops have opted to hit pause on Tilio’s exit. Yang and James Forrest are currently the only senior alternatives to Daizen Maeda, and the club are still struggling to make headway in their pursuit of a new wide player.
With pre-season now concluded and the league campaign beginning on Sunday, Rodgers is reluctant to weaken his squad further without reinforcements in place. That has left Rapid Vienna waiting for clarity – but they won’t wait much longer before pursuing other targets.

Unless Celtic move swiftly in the market to address their wing shortage, Tilio’s departure may yet be shelved entirely.
