Celtic Pull Back on Major Parkhead Plans

It was a couple of years back now when Celtic unveiled plans to build a hotel and Museum at Celtic Park to further enhance the are and the match day experience for supporters.

However, since plans were approved, we’ve heard very little about it all coming to fruition and to be honest, we expected this to be a bigger topic at the Celtic AGM.

Instead it was a short footnote at the end of a Q&A session between shareholders and the board.

Not brought up by any given board member it was a shareholder who asked about the plans and when this would be happening. Peter Lawwell gave the answer but it was short and sweet and hinted to wards the club pulling back on plans on any construction for the minute.

“It’s about where do we invest money?” Lawwell stated as cited by RecordSport.

“The hotel and museum are still options, we’re just assessing timing and money.”

This doesn’t sound like a club who are going to take that route any time soon. With other obligations and profits down, Peter Lawwell obviously believes investment would be best spent elsewhere.
