Celtic Players Urged To “Sprint over” The Finish Line With Title All But Wrapped Up

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has urged his players to end the season on a positive note, and sprint over the finish line.

The gaffer yet again masterminded a crucial Glasgow derby win this afternoon at Parkhead.

It was a tense affair for the home supporters towards the end of the game but the Bhoys pulled through to secure a monumental victory.

A thunderous Matt O’Riley strike and hilarious John Lundstram own goal eventually proved the difference between the sides but anyone who watched the game will admit the champions dominated their opponents.

The stats back this up with the hosts enjoying the lion’s share of possession, and having six shots on target to Rangers’ one.

It was a productive day at the office for Rodgers and Co. and although the title is all but wrapped up, the manager has urged his team to end the campaign in style.

There are two league games to go for the champions, along with a Scottish Cup final.

A point at Rugby Park would suffice to officially take the champagne off ice but Rodgers wants more.

He said: [Clyde 1 Superscoreboard] “We’re nearly crossing the finishing line.

“We don’t just want to cross it, we want to sprint over it.

“We’ve got two games to go, plus a final, and that is our mentality.”
