Celtic have reportedly opened preliminary talks with Sheffield Wednesday youngster Liam Shaw, who is out of contract in the summer.
As reported by the Scotsman, the club has opened early talks with the 19-year old in an attempt to try and prise him away from Hillsborough next season. Howeverm the English Championship side haven’t given up all hope of Shaw signing a new contract at the club.
It is thought that the teenager is open to the idea of staying on with Wednesday but is also keeping his options open at this stage to see who is interested in making a move for his services.
Shaw is a versatile player who has played in both central defence and in midfield for the Owls.
This sort of deal appears to the signings the club are looking to make moving forward with the new rules regarding Brexit and transfers. The club will be hoping they can bring the youngster up north to Glasgow, with the chance of playing European football possibly being a big factor in the Hoops interest.
