Celtic are gearing up for another attempt to secure a top goalkeeper this summer. The Hoops have set their sights on finding Joe Hart’s replacement and are reportedly confident a deal can be struck for one of their top targets
Sparta Prague’s Peter Vindahl Jensen, a Danish shot-stopper has emerged as a prime candidate for Celtic according to RecordSport.
The Czech side remains steadfast in their demand for over £8 million according to Scott Burns of The Daily Record, and at this point which is certainly affordable for the Scottish champions.
The same report claims Jensen, sees a move to Scotland as the next step in his career. The primary hurdle remains Sparta Prague, who are keen to retain him for their own Champions League campaign but he could very well be part of Celtic’s.

Sparta Prague had only recently signed the keeper on a permanent deal, having initially brought him in on loan from AZ Alkmaar. If they got a sizeable fee from Celtic it would be akin to Jack Hendry moving to Belgium for a nominal pre agreed transfer fee only to be sold for a much larger price in the same window.
Since Joe Hart announced his retirement back in February, Celtic have been meticulously scouting potential replacements. Although Scott Bain is currently the number one in pre-season he’s not considered good enough by Brendan Rodgers to hold down the position.
Celtic really need to get a move on, they surely have the lay of the land when it comes to their goalkeeping targets and they now must fill this vital position with less than a month to go until the beginning of the SPFL season.
Brendan Rodgers men will raise the league flag against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park on August 4th. By that time, Celtic fans will be horrified if a new goalkeeper hasn’t been acquired.
