Celtic has started contract negotiations with forward Rocco Vata, reports Anthony Joseph.

These discussions, taking place between Celtic’s management and Vata’s representatives, come amidst interest from Italian clubs Bologna and Como.
Vata’s potential within the club was highlighted in Celtic’s recent 5-0 Scottish Cup victory over Buckie Thistle, where he scored his first senior goal from the club.
Despite the interest from Bologna and Como, it is understood that Vata is keen to continue his journey with Celtic, provided there is a clear and promising pathway for his development.
Rocco Vata is highly rated at Celtic, although Brendan Rodgers has subtly hinted that he isn’t best pleased with his attitude with his post-match comments on Sunday.
The outcome of these negotiations will be closely watched, as Vata represents a significant prospect for Celtic.
His dad, Rudi, has said that he believes Celtic is the best fit for Vata at the moment, but has admitted that his son has thought about a move away.
