Celtic have unveiled their new away kit for the 2025/26 season, drawing inspiration from the famous design worn during Henrik Larsson’s prime.
The updated version sticks with a black base, giving the strip a modernised edge while keeping a clear nod to its roots.

The original kit is famously associated with Henrik Larsson, who was in sensational form during that era and became an iconic figure in the design. It’s fitting then that the Swedish striker takes centre stage in this season’s promotional campaign.
The launch video was shot in McChuills, a well-known Glasgow pub, where Henrik Larsson is seen playing snooker alongside a host of current and former Celtic stars from both the men’s and women’s teams. Charlie Mulgrew, John Collins and Tony Roper all make appearances, adding a mix of on-pitch experience and off-pitch character to the scene. The setting strikes a relaxed, humorous tone, cleverly blending different eras and personalities in a way that feels true to the club’s identity.

The choice of location and tone taps into a sense of nostalgia while continuing the connection between generations of Hoops players.
Larsson’s involvement gives the campaign genuine weight. For many supporters, the sight of the King of Kings back in a Celtic shirt is a moment bigger than marketing. His presence alongside McGregor and co. offers a brilliant link between past glories and the club’s current ambitions.

Adidas have once again aimed to blend retro charm with a modern edge. The reaction from supporters has been mixed, while many have welcomed the tribute to the past and praised the updated design, others have been less convinced by the shift away from the the original.
The men’s and women’s versions of the new away shirt are priced at £75, with junior sizes set at £60, infant kits at £50, and baby kits at £40. It’s a steep price point, particularly during a summer when many supporters are more concerned with signings than shirts.
The launch has sparked plenty of discussion online, with some fans voicing frustration over the cost amid the current transfer window. While the design and nostalgia have been well received by many, the price tag has raised eyebrows, especially in a period where the club’s activity in the market remains a key talking point.
The strip is available to pre-order now and will officially go on sale from July 24th through Celtic’s stores. With Larsson taking centre stage in the launch and the shirt offering a fresh twist on a fan favourite, it’s a kit that’s sure to spark debate, and, for many, become a standout of the season.
