New details have emerged surrounding the deal which would take Olivier Ntcham from Celtic to Marseille before tonight’s deadline.
The French club are looking at a loan deal with a view to buying in the summer. Ntcham wants to leave the club and a return to France will be very appetising for the midfielder.
Here is the current state of play according to reports in France.
Olivier Ntcham (24) is edging closer to a loan with option to buy move to Marseille – OM’s opening offer was €5.5m for the size of the option, L’Équipe report that Celtic would settle on the option being €8m.
Celtic have already sold Jeremie Frimpong this month after the defender made it clear he wanted out of the club. Ntcham is surplus to requirements with the Frenchman being frozen out of the team in the past 3-4 months.
Oli has made 14 appearances for the club this term but has no plans to sign a new deal beyond the one he has right now which ends in 18 months.
If Celtic can get €8m ib the summer, it will be looked at as good business for the club and player.
