‘Celtic Need a New Main Stand’ – Journo Talks Hoops Modernisation

Daily Mail Chief, Stephen McGowan was discussing all things Celtic with Graham Spiers on the journalists Patreon podcast this week.

One interesting bit of information Stephen put out there with regards to modernisation was the need for the club to build a new main stand.

The word coming from Dominic McKay is modernisation. That’s a word that can encompass a lot of different things. From what we’ve gathered so far, it means he wants a new approach to PR and the way the club interact with the supporters.

We applaud any positive moves made by the club to bridge the chasm created by a season of neglect.

Shortly, CeltsAreHere will take part in a panel discussion with other popular Celtic fan media outlets to forge a way forward next season.

Over and above that, McGowan claims the stadium needs to be modernised in order for Celtic to become truly modern from a visual and practical point of view.

“Celtic need a new main stand, that’s a pretty basic infrastructural fact” the journalist told the Graham Spiers Podcast.

“To become this modern club they want to become, they need a new main stand

“There are all kinds of issues that are on the horizon”

Of course, Celtic are a long way from being able to fund such a Celtic Park renovation.

Right now, we need to get the infrastructure of the club in order before we look at massive projects that will take years to come to fruition.

Harry Brady was on the same podcast and joked about the fact Celtic need to keep the doors to the front entrance locked on windy days because the doors will blow open. Also an amusing quip about the old dingy sofas that inhabit the Celtic lobby. It may seem trivial but the front entrance does need something new.
