Known for their committed support, the Celtic fans never fail to disappoint. This fact has rang true yet again with a recent list published by Transfermarkt.
In it, the clubs with the highest average attendance for the 2023 calendar year were ranked. Celtic came a noteworthy fifteenth in the list.
With an average attendance of 58,655 last year, the Hoops came above teams such as Atletico Madrid, Ajax, Liverpool, and European champions Manchester City.
Undoubtedly a table full of prestigious names, just fourteen football clubs across the world averaged a greater average attendance for their games in 2023 than the Celts. For a team in Scotland, such a fact is incredible.
As well as this, out of all of the teams in the top twenty, Celtic comes from the country with the smallest population. This makes their inclusion on the list and the level of support for the club all the more impressive.
As we move forward into 2024, it is in no way expected that the fandom over Celtic will dwindle. The number of supporters on the season ticket waiting list only grows year-on-year which yet again, displays the prodigious backing the club receives.
