Celtic Missing ‘Final Quality’ Against Motherwell, Claims Captain

Celtic captain Callum McGregor played the full 90 minutes for his side against Motherwell this afternoon. The skipper admitted post-match that his team missed a cutting edge.

A 1-1 draw was a hugely disappointing result for the Hoops. They were nowhere near the levels they should have been.

Post-match, McGregor admitted they could have been better in attack. He said (Celtic TV via Daily Record): “The amount of chances we had and we created good little situations, we were just missing that final quality. The small moments we have to be better, have to score the penalty and to concede so soon after we score.”

In coming matches, it will be hoped the Celts can improve on today’s display. Fine margins cost the Hoops in the end after a game they dominated.

Opportunities were created, but they weren’t taken. This is what cost Celtic in the end, with them now in a title race.
