Celtic Midfielder Set For January Parkhead Exit

It is being reported that Celtic midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi could be set to leave the club in January [The Scottish Sun].

Since arriving at the club at the turn of the year, the former Leeds United player has failed to make a huge impact in green and white hoops and could return to Japan as a number of J-League clubs are monitoring the situation.

He was announced alongside his fellow countrymen Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate on Hogmanay with it looking as though he could have potentially been the replacement for Nir Bitton after it was confirmed that he would leave the club in the summer.

However, before the close of business in the summer the Scottish champions made a move for Rubin Kazan’s Oliver Abildgaard which hinted that Ideguchi may no longer have been part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans as he dropped down the pecking order at Parkhead.

There’s no doubt that the 26-year-old was a Postecoglou signing and is so far the only player to have made little impact which is by no means a bit hit record when it comes to incoming players.

Injuries have been a real issue for the midfielder who sustained a horrible setback in the Scottish cup tie away to Alloa Athletic weeks into his Celtic career.

He is yet to feature at all for the Scottish champions this season and has only been on the bench a handful of times.

It’s a real pity it hasn’t worked out for Ideguchi but that can be the cruel sport of football.
