SCOTT BROWN settled his immediate future lasts season when he committed to Celtic after nearly leaving the club for Australia.
The Celtic captain was sounded out by a new consortium down under to spearhead their new team. The new Oz club thought they had Brown into the bag but the midfielder couldn’t bring himself to leave the club.
Now, under contract for the next two years, the treble treble winner is now looking to the future beyond that.
Brown is now doing his coaching badges with the Scottish FA ahead of his retirement from the playing side of the game. Put on the spot yesterday by Sky Sports cameras, they asked Brown where he seen himself in the game after hanging up his boots.
It’s clear the Celtic captain wants to be a manager when his time is done on the pitch and he’s readying himself for the trials and tribulations of coaching by helping Celtic’s developmental side.
He could follow a similar route to his current boss Neil Lennon. If given the chance Scott Brown as Celtic manager one day doesn’t sound out of the ordinary. Neil Lennon was doing his badges and briefly coached away from the club before coming back in under Strachan and ultimately taking the reins after the ill-fated Mowbray era. There’s a genuine possibility Scott Brown could be the Celtic manager in the next ten years.
