A transfer rumour emerging from Turkish media has linked Celtic with a potential move for Galatasaray right-back Elias Jelert.
According to the reports, Celtic have sent a written proposal to Galatasaray for a €1.25 million loan deal with an €8.5 million option to buy the Danish defender. While the original source is from Turkey, a country not always known for reliable transfer news, it’s a rumour that has caught traction on social media due to Celtic’s current injury concerns at right-back.

Alistair Johnston has been ruled out for up to 12 weeks following a hamstring injury picked up against Kairat Almaty, and while Brendan Rodgers has stated he will look internally for solutions, he did not completely rule out dipping into the market.
Jelert, 22, is widely regarded as one of Denmark’s brightest defensive prospects. He made the move to Turkey last summer, and is a full Denmark international.
Still, with the window entering its final days and Celtic actively strengthening in other positions, it’s a situation worth monitoring. As it stands, the rumour remains unverified, but given the club’s need for right-back cover, a late move for a player in that area wouldn’t come as a surprise.
On the opposite side of the back 4, Celtic are closing in on a loan deal for Saracchi.
