Celtic has announced the return of Efe Ambrose to participate in an upcoming Legends match against Borussia Dortmund.

Ambrose first joined Celtic on the summer transfer deadline day in 2012.
Ambrose made his debut for Celtic on 22 September 2012, coming on as a substitute for then-captain Scott Brown against Dundee, helping the team to a 2-0 victory. His initial season was marked by significant achievements, including helping the team reach the knock-out stages of the Champions League, where they faced Juventus. His participation in that match came just three days after playing the full 90 minutes in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph, showcasing his dedication and resilience.
Despite a challenging end to his tenure at Celtic, where he became less involved in the first team under manager Brendan Rodgers and experienced a collapsed transfer to Standard Liège and a failed loan move to Blackburn Rovers due to work permit issues, Ambrose’s affinity with the Celtic supporters remains strong. He eventually joined Hibernian on loan in February 2017, continuing his career in Scottish football.
The Legends match, scheduled for May 26, will see Scott Brown captaining the Celtic side, reuniting him with Ambrose and other former teammates in what promises to be a nostalgic and celebratory event.
