Celtic Make Defender Enquiry – Rodgers Gives Green Light

According to reports, Celtic have enquired about the availability of Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna with the Celtic manager giving the club the green light to go get him.

Celtic are desperate to land a physical defender before the window closes in under ten days and have identified the former Swansea target as someone who ticks all the boxes.

Aberdeen have already rejected offers from down South earlier in the window before the English transfer window closed and have maintained that their player is NOT for sale.

However, Celtic are at least going to ask the question and see if there’s any way they can prise him from Pittodrie this late in the transfer window.

McKenna had an impressive year for Aberdeen last season and caught the attention of many.

While some Celtic fans will be glad the club is actively looking for a centre back – some may not like the idea of bringing in someone from Aberdeen when they have set their sights higher.

It’s believed Dedryk Boyata will be able to move on if the club can bring in McKenna before the August deadline.

It’s believed the Dons slapped a large transfer fee on Scott’s head when English clubs came calling. It’s unlikely they’ll soften their stance for Celtic, selling their player to their main rival will come at a premium.
