Celtic Lose Interest in £5million Man

CELTIC are said to have lost interest in a transfer target which emerged over the weekend.

Neil Lennon confirmed he was looking into the potential of bringing Ibrox fan Paddy McNair to Celtic this summer. However, according to reports in RecordSport this morning, that interest has now eased as Celtic identify targets elsewhere.

Paddy can play midfield and defence and was most likely targeted for his versatility but with his price tag at least £5million (The amount ‘Boro paid Sunderland last year) it seems Celtic are not keen.

The Northern Irishman started his career with Manchester United before being sold to Sunderland and now he’s had a very average season with Championship club. As players go, he would be further down the list of what Celtic need at the moment. The club desperately need a right back and with the Champions League qualifiers now just 9 days away, time is of the essence.
