Celtic Looking to Re-Sign Defender on Cheap – Reports

Reports over the weekend claim Celtic are looking at bringing Hearts player Aaron Hickey back to the club only two years after he left to go back to Tynecastle.

With the current football shutdown in place, Hearts have asked ALL staff, playing or not, to take a 50% wage cut in order for the club to survive.

Signs are, Hearts players are resisting the move by Ann Budge and could seek contract termination if their wages cannot be met.

If that’s the case, Hickey would be able to leave the club and move elsewhere.

SunSport report Celtic have a 30% sell-on fee attached to the player which would be null and void if he became a free agent.

Hearts would be likely to protect their sellable assets and Hickey would certainly be one of them.

If the bhoys do want him back there are clubs down south also interested in him.

Aaron plays left back. Currently Celtic have Greg Taylor, Boli Bolingoli and Jonny Hayes in that position.
