Celtic could allow summer signing Vasilis Barkas to head out on loan next season after a poor season with the Hoops.
The goalkeeper has not been the preferred option with both John Kennedy and Neil Lennon seeing more value in Scott Bain being the Celtic number one.
Given the outlay for the keeper in the summer it’s likely Celtic will want to recoup as much money as possible. Given the goalkeeper’s stature in the game will be at an all time low – selling Barkas this summer will see the bhoys hit with a massive loss.
The ideal scenario for both the club and Barkas would be for him to go out on loan and find his form again.
RecordSport is reporting his former club AEK are looking to bring him back on loan.
This would give Celtic a loan fee and perhaps give Barkas the opportunity to up his transfer value in a years time.
It’s very hard to see the keeper leaving on a permanent basis in the next transfer window.
Either Vasilis goes out on loan or he stays and fights for his place under a new manager,
