The Norwegian defender joined the Staggies in January and has impressed so far.
Apart from this afternoon and when County faced off against Celtic as his parent club, he has started every game and played the entire 90 minutes.
Despite not starting, the 17-year old came off the bench early in the first half after just 22 minutes and it has obviously paid off for John Hughes with the youngster grabbing a crucial goal in the game.
Hjelde first joined the club back in 2019 from Rosenborg. With the type of player he is and of course his nationality it is likely that many comparisons will be drawn between himself and current central defender Kristoffer Ajer.
It will be interesting to see what his short term future holds at the club especially next season. We have a huge rebuild on the way so a decision has to be taken.
Could he be of use to the new manager or will he be loaned out once again?
