Celtic loanee Gustaf Lagerbielke has been included in Voetbal International’s latest Eredivisie Team of the Week, continuing his impressive form for FC Twente.

It’s not the first time the Swedish defender has been recognised for his performances in the Netherlands, further proving he’s making the most of his loan spell.
Despite his success abroad, Lagerbielke has admitted he’s had little contact with Celtic since his move in August, raising further questions about his long-term future at the club.

The centre-half arrived at Parkhead in the summer of 2023 but struggled to establish himself under Brendan Rodgers, leading to his loan move in the January window. Now, he has opened the door to a permanent exit, with his Celtic future looking increasingly unlikely.
It will be interesting to see how things unfold in the summer, but a return to Glasgow doesn’t seem to be on the cards.
There is no option to buy in his deal, but after a slow start he seems to be impressing in Holland, so the side may explore a potential permanent move, but the Swede has put himself in the shop window with his performances.
For now, Lagerbielke is thriving in the Eredivisie, and best of luck to him as he continues to impress.
