Celtic loanee Odin Thiago Holm has finally made his long-awaited debut for Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC.

The Norwegian midfielder joined the American outfit on January 13th but had been waiting for the right opportunity to get his first minutes on the pitch, with the MLS season only kicking off on February 18th.
Holm was introduced in the closing stages of LAFC’s 2-0 away win at Sporting Kansas City, coming on for the final three minutes of the match to help see out a comfortable victory. While his debut was brief, it marks an important milestone in his loan spell and offers a platform from which to build more consistent game time.

The 22-year-old Norwegian youth international had struggled for regular minutes at Celtic following his arrival in the summer of 2023. Despite showing glimpses of quality, Holm found it difficult to displace more established midfielders in Brendan Rodgers’ side, prompting the decision to send him out on loan for further development.
His move to LA includes a deal that runs through the 2025 MLS season, which will see him return to Glasgow in the winter.
With his debut now out of the way and his side in good form, there will be hope from both Celtic and LAFC that Holm can kick on and play a more influential role in the weeks to come.
