Celtic winger Luis Palma has spoken out about his future at the Hoops as speculation continues over his long-term future. The Honduran international, currently on loan at Greek giants Olympiacos, has an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Palma’s Commitment to Celtic
Despite his loan move, Palma has highlighted that he remains a Celtic player for now. Speaking to Diario La Prensa, the winger stated, “I’m still with them [Celtic].” While this suggests he has not closed the door on returning to Glasgow, his words also indicate a focus on his current role at Olympiacos.
A Fresh Start in Greece
After a promising start to his Celtic career, Palma found himself struggling for regular game time under Brendan Rodgers. The January loan move to Olympiacos presented him with a new challenge, and he has wasted no time in making an impact. His goal and assist in the 6-0 Greek Cup semi-final demolition of AEK Athens showed exactly what he can bring to a team when given the opportunity.
Will Olympiacos Make the Move Permanent?
Olympiacos hold an option to buy Palma for around €4 million at the end of the season. While there has been no official word from the Greek club on whether they intend to activate the clause, Palma’s performances could make him an attractive long-term option for them. If he continues to impress, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Olympiacos push for a permanent deal.
Where Does This Leave Celtic?
Palma’s situation puts Celtic in an interesting position. If Olympiacos choose to sign him, the Hoops will receive a strong fee and free up space in the squad for new signings. However, if he returns to Glasgow, he will need to fight for his place in a competitive wide area, with players like Daizen Maeda, Jota, Nicolas Kuhn, and Yang Hyun-Jun also fighting for a starting spot.

Palma Focused on the Present
For now, Palma remains committed to Olympiacos, stating, “As long as there’s no transfer, I’ll continue to be grateful to Celtic, but it’s time to defend Olympiacos.” While his long-term future remains uncertain, it’s clear that he is determined to make the most of his time in Greece.
