Celtic-linked ‘Keeper On Radar Of EPL Club

Joe Hart’s contract expires at Celtic at the end of the current season. No news over a potential renewal has surfaced of late.

This, combined with the 36-year-old’s natural decline due to age, has pointed many towards the notion that the Hoops should be in the market for a new number one. For this role, a few names have already been linked.

One of those is Andriy Lunin. Currently plying his trade for Real Madrid, the Ukrainian internationalist’s contract there expires next summer.

It was previously reported that the Celts were considering a move for the 24-year-old, but a new party have registered interest.

According to El Nacional (via Daily Record), Arsenal have entered the race to sign Lunin. The Gunners are preparing for the exit of Aaron Ramsdale, and the Real man is on their radar.

At Celtic, Lunin would come in and undoubtedly start every game if fit and available. This may not ring true at other clubs, including Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s side could offer drastically more than the Hoops in terms of finances, though. In addition, it is certain Celtic and Arsenal won’t be the sole two clubs after Lunin, and that there will be many more.

This will make it arduous for the champions to potentially sign the ‘keeper, but one should never say never, especially in football.
