Celtic Line Up Manchester City Man for Key Role: Reports

Celtic are reportedly eyeing up their man for the director of football position, which will take lead us into becoming a more modern-thinking football club, with Fergal Harkin being targeted as that man.

As reported by Sun Sport, Harkin who currently works with English Premier League side Manchester City is being lined up for the role which would see him work alongside brand new CEO Dominic McKay and whoever is Celtic manager come next season.

Harkin’s role at Man City is a bit different to the director of football job, sitting in the position of football partnerships manager.

This sees him playing a key role in the Manchester clubs transfer network, having a say in where players go out on loan. With Celtic’s strong relationship with City, it is thought that he played a key role in the purchases of the likes of Oliver Ntcham and Jeremie Frimpong.

A massive rebuild is on the way in the summer and after getting the new CEO through the door, the next huge appointment has to be the director of football.

Harkin seems to have a good some good experience about him with a knowledgeable network. This would certainly be an interesting appointment if it was to come to fruition.
