Celtic Learn Bazoumana Toure Price as Winger Hunt Continues

Celtic have learned how much they will need to pay for Hammarby starlet Bazoumana Toure as their search for a winger continues.

It has been well documented that the Hoops want to add some depth in the wide areas, and they have been widely linked with Toure over the past few months.

The 18-year-old only joined Hammarby in the Swedish top flight in March this year for a measly 300,000 from ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast (Transfermarkt).

He has since gone on to impress since his move, scoring nine goals and assisting four across 23 Hammarby appearances in all competitions.

Such form has sparked interest from Celtic, who are set to make an offer for the attacker, according to reports in Sweden, via The Scottish Sun.

The Scottish Premiership champions recently sent scout Jay Lefevre to watch Toure, although English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion are also interested in his services.

The Bhoys have now learned how much the teenager will set them back after Hammarby’s sports manager Mikael Hjelmberg recently spoke out: “There are many clubs who ask about him, and there are many clubs who are curious about what it would cost to buy him,” he said (The Scottish Sun).

“But we have been quite clear about what we think – and that may also be why nothing concrete has come yet.

“I’ve told Bazou and his representatives that if we’re going to sell this winter, it should be for a Swedish record.”

The record sale for a player out of the Swedish leagues is €11m (roughly £9.2m), so Michael Nicholson and Co. will need to get the chequebook out if Toure is to make his way to Glasgow this winter.

The club weren’t afraid to spend big in the summer, yet it remains to be seen how much is in the transfer budget for January.
