Celtic Land Hampden Smiler; All Cinch Premiership Referee and VAR Appointments

Celtic are back in domestic action this weekend after the final international break comes to an end. It’s been two weeks without the hoops who signed off before the break with a 6-0 trouncing of Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

It’s back to Paradise this weekend as the Hoops look to maintain their gap at the top of the table when Motherwell comes to town.

The SFA has released the officials for all matches this weekend in the Cinch premiership and as always, it makes for interesting reading.

Celtic have been handed the double act of Steven McLean and on VAR, who else but the Hampden smiler on VAR, David Dickinson! The SFA official garnered quite the reaction on social media when he appeared to nod and smile at the Ibrox manager after they had scored during the semi-final game against Hearts.

Elsewhere at Pittodrie Nick Walsh and Andrew Dallas will be on standby, and we have a feeling the Rangers social media team might already have their ‘penalty to Rangers’ graphic in drafts ready to go ;).

John Beaton takes charge at Tynecastle while Don Robertson is off to Dundee to officiate Dundee vs Hibs. Colin Steven and David Munro complete the cinch referee lineup with games at Dingwall and Paisley respectively.

Celtic could go eleven points clear at the top of the table on Saturday albeit having played two more games than their Glasgow rivals. They have a solid five-point lead assuming the Ibrox club win their games in hand, as we head to the end of the year, it’s imperative we finish on a high.
