Celtic have firmly shut the door on any prospect of Reo Hatate leaving Parkhead this summer , brushing aside a substantial £10 million bid from France for the dynamic Japanese midfielder.
Just days after Matt O’Riley’s departure to Brighton for a club-record £25 million, Celtic have made it crystal clear that they won’t entertain the notion of losing another key player in this transfer window. According to MailSport, the club didn’t even engage in discussions when an unnamed Ligue 1 side came knocking earlier this week, showing their resolve to keep Hatate in Glasgow.

This isn’t the first time interest in the 26-year-old has been rebuffed. Last month, Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg made an enquiry, which was swiftly turned down. Meanwhile, Leicester City from the English Premier League showed some interest but never followed through with a concrete offer.
Hatate, isn’t believed to be spoiling for a move and is committed to Celtic for the season ahead. Kt would be unthinkable to sell Reo days after Matt leaving the club. We saw the midfielder get on the scoresheet at the weekend against St Mirren, Reo will have a big say on how Celtic’s season goes.
With the transfer window closing at 11 pm on Friday, fans can breathe easy knowing that Hatate is set to remain a crucial part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad for the foreseeable future. It is rightly all about incomings for the Scottish champions at this stage in proceedings.
The bhoys are chasing midfielder Arne Engels from Ausburg as well as Austin Trusty from Sheffield Utd. It’s believed a deal for Bogusz is now off the table.
