Celtic Joint Third In Prestigious European Table

Celtic have endured a more than respectable start to the 2023/24 season. Albeit they are out of the Viaplay Cup, they sit seven points clear of their city rivals at the top of the table, remain in the fight in Europe, and are unbeaten in the league so far.

The last fact in that list has put them joint third in a prestigious table of teams from Europe’s top ten ranked leagues. Along with Gent, Galatasaray, Sporting, and AZ Alkmaar, the Hoops are third for unbeaten teams with the most league points so far this season:

Only ranking above the Scottish champions are Barcelona in second and Fenerbache and PSV in joint first. Being so high up in this table is a testament to the terrific job Brendan Rodgers has done since he returned to take charge of his boyhood club.

The transition from Ange Postecoglou’s stewardship to the Irishman’s has been predominantly sound, and as the weeks progress, the admirable job Rodgers is doing continues to show.
