Celtic January Transfer Update: Good News and Bad News

If you’ve watched Celtic this season, you will know as well as the rest of us, we need reinforcements in January.

The club have looked stale with the players they have and the summer signings, while good on paper, have failed to deliver when it’s mattered.

Neil Lennon recognises the team need fresh faces and top talent but the depressing element of his transfer update came at the end.

While he recognises the need for new players, especially wingers, the Irishman revealed it could be nearer the end of January before we bring in reinforcements.

“We need to add to the squad, in a couple of areas.” Neil Lennon confirmed to CelticTV.

“Identify those positions and bring them in. It’s a bit early yet, obviously, January is a very difficult month to do business, it could go right to the end of the month in these transfer windows.”

The Celtic manager did indicate he’s looking for wide men after the long term injuries of Mikey Johnston and James Forrest severely disadvantaging his attacking options.

So the good news is, we are likely going to dip into the market but bad news, it will be at the usual snail pace.

If we’re not looking for another goalkeeper before then, I despair!
