Celtic have had to come out with a strong statement this evening after they’ve been put under the microscope for a squad photo last month.
Dundee Utd were hammered by Government advisor Jason Keith for a squad photo which emerged after NINE players had to self isolate due to an outbreak.
It has emerged Celtic took part in a similar squad photo which many have suggested was against protocol.
However, the club welcome any scrutiny and claim they followed all procedures to allow the photo to happen.
You could argue the photo wasn’t needed and it was a silly thing to do during the pandemic. But I don’t think there will be any ramifications for the club – maybe a fine.
A Celtic statement as published by RecordSport said: “The photo was taken and published weeks ago and undertaken with all established protocols.
“We will happily discuss this with the Scottish Government should they wish to do so.
“Celtic’s own stringent protocols have ensured that, to date, following thousands of individual tests, we have recorded no positive cases within our squad with the only cases affecting the club being recorded while our players have been away on international duty.”
As far as we’re led to believe this was a very brief photo and all the players tests had come back negative before the image was taken.
