Celtic is reportedly eyeing a move for Sheffield United defender Auston Trusty as they look to strengthen their backline.

The centre-back, who can also operate as a left-back, emerged as a potential target for the Hoops. Trusty, 26, moved to Sheffield United from Arsenal last season for £5 million and made 32 appearances in the Premier League, although his efforts couldn’t prevent the team’s relegation.
According to Sun Sport, Celtic could propose a deal that includes Mikey Johnston as a swap. Johnston, who has struggled to secure a regular starting position at Celtic and spent last season impressing on loan at West Brom, could be offered in exchange to facilitate Trusty’s transfer.
The American international has two caps for the USA.
This potential swap deal would address Celtic’s need for defensive reinforcements while offering Sheffield United a proven talent in Johnston, who was great in the Championship last season, as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
