Celtic Interest in Senegalese International – French Report

Celtic wants to sign Senegalese international Bamba Dieng, according to French outlet Homme du Match.

The 22-year-old striker can be deployed on both wings. Currently, he plays with Olympique Marseille in the French top division.

Dieng played 25 games last season in Ligue 1, netting the ball seven times and assisting a further three goals.

Dieng also has European experience, playing in the Europa League last season and scoring in the Conference League.

With Alexis Sanchez set to arrive at OM, Dieng will lose his spot in the team. Therefore, the player will be allowed to speak to other clubs this summer.

Newcastle, Leeds, West Ham and Crystal Palace all hold an interest in the player, who Transfermarkt values at £10 million.

Will Celtic Make a Move?

It’s hard to imagine Celtic making a move for the player with Albian Ajeti still on the books. Postecoglou is trying to move the Swiss Striker on, but finding a club willing to meet the player’s demands is proving a tricky challenge.

Celtic has two great strikers at the club in Kyogo and Giakouamkis, but backup to the players is needed, especially with the hectic schedule Celtic has this season. One injury could do a lot of damage up top.
