Celtic Injury Boost as Nine Month Absentee Joins First Team Training

Long term injured Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton looks like he’s running ahead of schedule as the Israeli trained with the first team squad ahead of their game against Hamiton at the weekend.

There is very little chance he’ll see any action against Accies but the fact the player is now back on the training ground is great news.

During his long road to recovery, the midfielder has had to do rehab with the Celtic medical team and has been kept away from the first team.

After a knee operation in February this year, the Celtic utility man looks like he is over the worst of his injury and is heading back into contention in the coming weeks and months.

Nir joined Celtic back in 2013 and has played 171 times for the club.

The midfielder has 18-months left on his current Celtic deal and will be looking to extend that stay by performing well when he’s fully fit.
