Celtic Injury Blow Ahead of Cup Tie – Debut Likely

It’s bad news for Celtic as Ange Postecoglou has again ruled Callum McGregor out ahead of their tie against Raith Rovers on Thursday evening.

Callum has been missing since the 3-0 win over Ross County and it was hoped he would be back in time for the League Cup quarter final. It’s proven not to be the case and the team must go again without their captain.

One interesting point will be Gorgios Giamoumakis will be part of the squad against Raith but Ange doesn’t believe the player is ready to start yet and will most certainly start on the bench.

Celtic have lost their last two games against Real Betis and Livingston. Both away ties where the Hoops have not been good enough as of late. A home tie offers Celtic a bit of respite and the chance to find some form before they hit the road again next week. After Raith Rovers, Dundee Utd will travel to Celtic Park in the SPFL. There’s no real room for error in the SPFL already for the Hoops and we hope Callum can make it back for that game!
