Celtic Host Lennoxtown Visitor Ahead of Signing – Report

Celtic are on the verge of adding another promising youngster to their ranks, with Morton teenager Isaac English set to join the Parkhead academy this week.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, the 17-year-old forward was at Lennoxtown on Wednesday to finalise his move, as Celtic continue to bolster their talent pipeline.

English featured regularly for Morton’s youth sides and caught the eye during senior training sessions. A £50,000 fee between the clubs is reportedly agreed, clearing the path for him to link up with Celtic’s development squad. The Scottish champions clearly see him as part of the next generation and are not holding back on investing in homegrown prospects.

This move follows hot on the heels of their near completion of the Benjamin Nygren deal. The Swedish attacker is close to signing from Nordsjælland, with only personal terms remaining.

Brendan Rodgers and the recruitment team have been busy behind the scenes. With Tierney back, Maeda staying put and Nygren arriving, Rodgers already has quality and freshness in attack. Now, by adding Isaac English, Celtic are reinforcing their long-term strategy.

And Celtic aren’t finished yet, with plenty of links emerging just a few days into the transfer window.

It’s a clear signal that while focusing on immediate quality, Celtic aren’t forgetting to plan for the future. English’s arrival will add competition in the development squads, and who knows that if he hits the ground running, he could follow the path of other recent graduates who’ve broken into the first team.
