GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS is still buzzing after his side emerged victorious from the Glasgow Derby. Unable to get on the scoresheet, the Greek could wind up the players on the pitch and half Ryan Jack, who had called him disrespectful in the days leading up to the encounter.
Giakoumakis has started two ‘very special’ games with Celtic; both times, his side has left with three points taking strides towards the title.
Speaking to Bein Sports, quoted by The Herald, Giakouamkis revealed he was still in seventh heaven, saying;
“It was unbelievable, we were buzzing all the next days,” Giakoumakis told beIN Sports.
“I had never experienced such a thing. Anyone who has not experienced such a match on the field cannot understand. We are talking about life experience.
“Old Firms are always very special games. They are life experiences for every footballer who participates. The atmosphere is magical.”
Giakoumakis has previously stated that he believed that his team were superior to their rivals and also thought that he would have his hands on the league title in May. Sunday’s display certainly helps Celtic’s cause, now six points clear at the top.
With six games left to play, it’s Celtic’s league to lose. Giakouamkis will be hopeful of adding to his goal tally, with eight league goals to his name so far.
