Celtic Gain Shock Support from Unlikely Source

According to reports, Celtic are at the forefront of a Scottish football revolution which would see foreign referees come in from next season onwards if they can get enough support for the motion.

It looks like the club has garnered shock support from many other clubs who have been less than impressed by the standard of refereeing this year with a summit called after a serious of events last month.

Record Sport wrote the story and they believe the motion could come in and be agreed as early as this Monday.

‘Revolutionary plans to draft in foreign referees to Scotland’s top flight for the start of next season are to be tabled on the back of a stormy secret summit between the SFA and the country’s furious top flight clubs.

‘Record Sport can reveal the governing body have agreed to consider a historic overhaul of their own disciplinary rule book after holding showdown talks with all 12 of the country’s Premiership clubs at Hampden on Monday.’

Brendan Rodgers has been an advocate of getting full time referees in to officiate games in Scotland, citing how can anyone improve if they are not completely committed to their craft.

Celtic ambassador Tom Boyd called for foreign refs to come in after a serious of peculiar decisions against Celtic this season.

If the motion gets enough support from the other clubs, there could be foreign referees officiating games as early as next season.

Back in 2010, foreign referees were drafted in after the Scottish referees went on strike, the SFA bringing in whistlers from various countries.
