Celtic’s Europa League games for the new season have been announced, and their first match comes with an unusual twist.
Europa League games are almost always played on a Thursday, but UEFA’s new calendar means that is not always the case.
With the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League all spread across different weeks, some Europa League matches are now being played on a Wednesday. Celtic’s trip to Serbia falls into that window, giving them a rare midweek change.
The rest of the Hoops’ fixtures return to the normal Thursday schedule and provide a tough set of challenges. Celtic will face Braga and Sturm Graz at Celtic Park before travelling for back-to-back away games against Midtjylland and Feyenoord.

The tie against Roma at Parkhead in December is likely to be the standout occasion, with thousands expected to fill the stadium for a big European night.
The campaign then finishes in January with a trip to Italy to face Bologna and a home game against Utrecht to close out the league phase. The draw has handed Celtic a demanding set of games, mixing glamour ties with difficult away trips.
