DUNDEE have today announced the signing of Celtic goalkeeper Conor Hazard in an emergency loan this morning with the club in the midst of a goalkeeping crisis.
Hazard is on a long term deal at Celtic but has yet to make the breakthrough to the first team or even considered in the top three keepers at the club.
The Irishman has been out on loan before to the Championship with both Falkirk and Partick Thistle and is likely to go straight into the side for Dundee against Ayr on Friday night.
Fraser Forster, Craig Gordon and Scott Bain are Celtic’s three goalkeepers at the moment.
Forster’s loan ends in the summer and Gordon’s current Celtic deal runs out at the same time. This would push Hazard’s place up the squad by default but it remains to be seen if Neil Lennon is keen on the goalkeeper.
Right now, getting much needed game time can’t hurt.
